Last year, Newsweek announced its decision to cease publishing a printed edition. Their last United States printed issue was published on December 31, 2012.
Unfortunately, this quick transition to an online-only edition has not helped overcoming the general crisis among the news magazines. Even worst, Barry Diller, the actual owner of Newsweek, is now willing to quit by selling the magazine.
As reported by Katerina Matsa in an interesting analysis (see link below), even if digital is a growing market, it cannot yet replace the print revenues.
Therefore, it seems a wise choice would be to be present on the web to take advantage of it without giving up too quickly on the print, which brings, for the time being, the best revenues.
